Programming forms on the web to automatically open in Reader/Acrobat

I create a lot of forms that are put on a websfor people to open and complete.  We are having increasing problems with people not being able to open the forms for varying reasons on browsers.  Is there a way to put some programming in the form so that when it is opened it is automatically opened in Reader/Acrobat and if someone doesn't have the software they are prompted to go download it?
