Hi All,
I have a PDF template and there is a text field to be populated with large comments by User.
Currently the text field is not expanding dynamically. Rather scroll bar is coming, which is not allowing the User to print the entire PDF form.
Can anyone please suggest me on how to create a dynamic text field in my PDF template which will expand(even to the next page) w.r.t the content inside it?

I have a requisition form that consists of three major sections - a header, a details table, and a footer.
The details table must be able to expand to fit, which means the form must be able to flow onto a second page. All the fields in the header must repeat on the second page. The footer should only appear at the bottom of the details table, once, not repeated on every page.
After much tinkering with flowed and positioned subforms, I've got this working with the details table inside a flowed subform, with a positioned subform within the header and footer rows of the table. I suspect this is not the 'correct' way, but it's the only way I've been able to get working.
So my header happily repeats on the second page, but the values typed into the fields in the first page header do not show up on the second page. The user must be able to edit the header on any page and have all the pages headers update.
Can anyone please point me to a tutorial or give me an idea of what code would achieve this? I don't know how to reference the repeated field to set its value.
If what I'm doing is madness and there's a better way, that would be good to know too. I'm using es2

My manager has valid/paid license for adobe livecycle with serial ID and order number.
We are currently in the process of upgrading our system from ES2 to ES4. Hence we read through documents and prepared the list of software to be downloaded. Somehow we found everything but not this file "lces_server_11_0_0_jboss_all_win.zip".

I have a repeating subform with a list of names.
I would like the first name in this subform to appear on every page.

Is their a script I can place in a field on the master page to make this happen? If not is there a way to make this happen?

I have a four page form; pages 2-4 become visible when a dollar amount reaches a certain value. The form also has a button that emails the form to approvers. Is it possible to actually delete pages 2-4 if the dollar amount does not reach the value?
Or is it possible to only email the first page?

Hello all,
I have a 41 page form that I have created and have been editing for many months now. Every now and then the base PDF gets updated and I have to replace the artwork. This has worked many times in the past but now it is not working. It is saying:
Cannot replace artwork because the document you are importing contains fewer pages than the current document. Select a document that contains the same number of pages.
The problem is that the new document has 41 pages just like the current doc. I am really at a loss here because I went through each document and matched up each page where the only difference being in a few text changes.
Any ideas?

I have two pages in design view, first page has static fields , but the second page has to be dynamic. I am not able to create a subform on second page of design view. It always creates the new subform on page1. I can't even drag the newly created subform from page1 to page2. I want page 2 to allow continuation of data flow to next page dynamically.
Please help me out with positive solution as i am new at this.

I'm creating a form for work to be used by many different agencies. In this form, the user can add photos/maps. When testing the form, we noticed that some of the photos did not fill the image field box (the picture was too small). The photos need to stay proportional. Is it possible for those fields to be resized by the user?

hi guys, I have a process setup in workbench which I call using a WSDL link.I
t returns an xml list of items I want to populate into a drop down list.
When I setup the WSDL link in designer the response is two text fields, one called element which doesnt return anything and one called document which returns the xml in this format...

in designer, in the list items dialogue I have set the bindings to:

(it would not allow me to drill into the xml from here, i could only go down to document level so I manually write the item text and value boxes.
When i invoke the web service there are no items in the drop down. the only way i can get something to appear is by using item Text $ whichreturns the entire xml response.
where am I going wrong?
In LifeCycle Designer 4, when sending a file (i.e. Submit by e-mail) on a pdf form, the name of the pdf seems to be random - is there any way of giving it a name e.g. New Form.pdf

I am working in adobe livecycle designer. Have problem in assigning value to the textfield.
My script is like:
if(abc.length>25){x.rawValue="Length exceeds the limit");}
Everything goes fine but the value of textfield is not printing. So I tested by adding alert inside if condition. Like below:
if(abc.length>25){app.alert(x.rawValue); x.rawValue="Length exceeds the limit"); app.alert(x.rawValue);}
So what happening is, first alert is coming as 'null' and the second alert coming with the value "Length exceeds the limit". But the text field is not showing any value, it is still blank.
I made the field presence is visible as well.
Its little urgent. Any help is appreciate!

I am new to using LiveCycle to design forms. This seems like it should be a really simple thing, but I am stuck on how to do it.
I have a Zip Code field. It is set for both Zip and Zip + 4 Display and Validation Patterns. The Validation Pattern is text{99999}|text{999999999}.
I have a script that stops the entry of alpha characters. I would also like to prevent users from entering more than 9 characters. I would think the
Limit Length: Max Chars: feature would take care of this....but it doesn't. I can't turn on the Limit Length because I get a warning that it conflicts
with my pattern. Doesn't make sense to me because my pattern has a max of 9 numbers and I want my Limit Length to have a max of 9 characters.
I know I can use the pattern validation to provide a warning error message that tells a user to enter either 5 or 9 digits, but why can't I just stop them at 9?
Any help would be appreciated.

I am developing a SAP Interactive adobe form for offline scenario. Where user is going to fill the form and submit it for processing. In this process there are various drop down lists which will be pre populated in the interface of the form. However, I do not have to display all these tables information within the form. Only certain values must be populated in a drop down list. I tried to search various discussions and tried to include a script in one of the fields exit event. as shown below

where IT_Types(table) is not placed or binded with any of the form fields or tables, But it has 20 rows . I wanted to populate the DD1 with code and text available in this table. The above script runs good for one iteration. When the counter "i" value gets increased by 1 i.e. second iteration it gives me an error. Need help in getting these values.
Due to a very specific customer requirement, the newly created LiveCycle PDF has to have the ability to import multiple XML files without losing any data.
This is the procedure that is implemented now:
The above procedure is running fine. However, when the user imports another XML the whole form gets resetted and even the global variables are empty again.

I've created a form in LiveCycle Designer and there is a text field that is retrieving data from a table. The data in this field is entered from a ColdFusion form and its using the Rich Text Editor in the form. Because of this, the data that is displaying in the text field of the pdf looks like this:
<p>This is a comment.</p>
Is there any way for the text field to show the data with the proper formatting? I've gone in to the field tab of the object and selected Rich Text for the Field Format but it doesn't help.

I've been tasked with creating a guide on how to use Livecycle to create accessible forms. One of the problems I'm encountering is replicating in Livecycle the horizontal tables that my department uses. I have not found a way to create a header column nor a way to have a column span rows like you would in HTML. Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

This issue has been a thorn in my side for 3 weeks and I'm really hoping someone out there knows the answer or a process to do this.
I have a submit button built into my form to lock all fields and email the completed form to a certain address. The form has four attachments included with it that serve as help documents for customers and those filling in the information.
I would like to strip the attachments from the main file when the form is submitted to the office.
Is this possible? If so, how can I do it?

Why when I click the button does the email send first and then the field hide and become visible. I need them to hide/visible before the form is emailed.
What is even more weird is that sometimes it works find and other times it doesn't. And I can't for the life of me figured out what is wrong!
Any help is always extremely appreciated!
