I was recently told by our sourcing department that ES4 is no longer commercially available, but she was not able to tell me what the proper replacement for this software is. Is there a replacement software for ES4, or was she given incorrect information by our reseller?

I am curious to know if there is any software out there that is able to create dynamic pdf forms like Designer. I know there are a lot of pdf creators but I am curious to know if there is anything that is able to layout forms with all the different field types that Designer does? I am just curious as my employer is asking about what options we have for an upcoming project.

Disable Script Error window
I have a formCalc scripts referencing in a subform instance that's set at zero and remains "hidden" on initial opening of the file.
Script debugger windows kicks in when the file is open saying there's an error cause there's not instance of it yet...
Can I disable the script debugger window?

Unable to save or sign documents from LiveCycle ES4 Version 11
Hi,
I'm new to creating PDFs and documents with Adobe. I'm currently tasked with updating a range of PDFs within my organisation using the old templates. The old templates were created using LiveCycle ES Version 10.
I've recently purchased LiveCycle ES4 Version 11.
I've commenced updating the documents, however when I attempt to save them and launch them within my organisation, i'm unable to save the file with text or sign any of the forms. Initially when opening the PDF, I receive the following:
"Please fill out the following form. You cannot save data typed into this form.
Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records."
The old forms (LiveCycle ES 10.0) still work, however mine created under LiveCycle ES4 don't.
I've noticed when I go to the document, under Properities, the Document Restrictions Summary for my new documents are set to: Commenting and Signing - Not Allowed.
How can I enable this for my document? I'm using the same version of Acrobat within each environment (1.7, Adobe Extension Level 3 (Acrobat 9.x)).

I'm not a professional. I have compilable pdf forms created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer (building application modules) I would need to add and remove pages, which I normally do with mac os preview, but with these modules I can not, what should I do? what programs should I use?

SAVE AS
When I go back to check a PDF file, either on a email attachment, or just simply review of the document. Adobe asks me to SAVE AS. So I end with more then one file, each time I review or revise one document. Why can I just open the file without saving it again and again.
Did I do something wrong on the settings?

Radio Button Sums
I have a form that has 40 sets of two radio buttons. Based on which radio button is selected, I need to add into four different sums. So total one would be Group1Radio1 + Group3Radio2. How do I do this?
Does this make sense?

Allow Newly Added Table Cells To Be Styled With "Content In A Flowed Container"
I'm working on some very old forms that our department maintains, and the person who designed them has long since left. I'm trying to add new table rows to a table and have them styled the same way as the other table rows, but for some reason they aren't picking up the "content flow" styling that the rest of the table benefits from. As a disclaimer: These forms are set up badly! The person who made them didn't know how to set up a lot of things that are apparently standard for web forms. Unfortunately I have to use them as is, as we don't have enough manpower to overhaul all these.
I added in rows 17(0)-17(5) using the down facing clickable arrow on the left side of the table. I'm planning on eventually changing the names of these to the correct numbers, but I know that the name isn't an issue, as another item in the table 18(1) has proper styling.
Basically, I'm trying to get the numbers in the screenshot above to all line up. I can't manually adjust the cells in the table because the message, "Content Aligned In A Flowed Container" is greying out the paragraph alignment options. Is there something I have to do to "add" these new cells into the table flow? Appreciate your help with this!

How to reset an entire form if a text field changes
Hi,
I have a fillable and very long form designed in livecycle.
What I want is, if a user changes a certain field (lets say it Field 1);
1- All other fields values should become blank.
2- All fields on the form which are hidden in default but made visible by some actions of the user, to become hidden again.
I found a way doing this in Field 1's change event with this code:
xfa.host.resetData();
xfa.form.remerge();
This actually works. After changing Field 1, all other fields contents are erased and the previously hidden fields become hidden again.
But there is a frustrating issue:
Users should enter a ten digit number in Field1. When entering numbers, after every key stroke, a process started (clock sign shows) and it lasts approx. one second. After it ends, a beep also sounds. If you do not wait the process to end after every key stroke and rapidly press 10 keys continuously, system can not get all the numbers and misses some of them.
So to pass this issue, I have decided to change the place of the code to Field 1's exit event.
But in this event type, I experienced two other problems:
1- If user just clicks to Field 1, changes nothing and than clicks to any another place (exit) the form resets.
2- If a user changes Field 1, the field itself also resets. (In the change event, the field itself does not reset)
So after this, I made a little research on the web and figured out this code:

I want to make the system check if the content changed at the exit. I used in Field 1's exit event.
But it does not work.

How to make a javascript function execute in the order I write it
I have a function in the click event of a button:
xfa.host.resetData ();
xfa.form.remerge ();
textfield1.access = "open"
Row1 and row2 works but row3 does not because I understand java is working in an asynchronous state.
All rows run at the same time but remerge takes more time and it ends last. So in the very end, it makes textfield1 to its default state, read only.
How can I make these three rows execute in the order I write them? How can I make row3 waits to run until row2 ends?

Column rules and repeat Column based on Sample xml data
Hello Everyone,
I am new to Adobe tools and we are in process of converting our designs from another Doc Comp tool (HP Exstream) to new version of AEM Forms Designer (6.1). I know Forms designer 6.1 is the upgraded version of LiveCycle ES4 designer so posting it here. I am looking for an option where I need to make a column visible/hidden based sample xml value and I like to repeat the column based on sample xml data. I do not find any options to do this, I am able to do this with rows but not columns.
Just want to know is it even possible with this tool? If NOT, is there any alternative solution to achieve this?

Enabling Tools for Adobe Reader
I have finished a form that includes a large number of 'preSave' scripts. Once the form is 'signed' instructional information becomes hidden, and only completed fields remain. My problem is I need to save the form to enable rights for users with Adobe Reader. When I 'save as' all the information disappears. Is there any way around this? Pretty desperate for any help - thanks!!

Dynamic Tables - not growing the table rows
I am working with ES4 and trying to create a table that will grow with the use of a button. I followed an online tutorial that was about 4 years old, but all the steps were valid with my version of LiveCycle. So I used the table wizard to create a 3 column table with headers. Next I placed a button next to the table. I then used the Action Builder tool to create action which was:
Condition: When button Button1 is clicked
Result: Add a new instance of Row1
This resulted in the following code for the button:

}
When I go to the Preview PDF tab, it has the table and the button, but clicking the button does nothing. The warnings tab at the bottom has no errors listed. Any ideas on why it wouldnt be working? The table and the button are the only items on the form (testing).

Decimal or Whole Number Question
How can a numeric field's numeric pattern (or javscript) be set up or coded to return a whole number or 1 decimal when the number has an exponential. For example, I'd like the same field to return a whole number when 120/12 = 10 and when the calculation returns a decimal (i.e. 131/12 = 10.916666) the number would return as 10.9.
I am ok with using a numeric pattern or javascript code.

Growing text from bottom to top !! IS it possible?
Hello Everyone,
Does Live cycle ES4 or new version AEM forms designer 6.1 supports growing content from bottom to top? I have requirement where the disclaimer text needs to be placed at the bottom of the page which can grow. And it has to grow to top so that the disclaimer can ends at same place always.
I placed a Text filed with in Sub form and see the flow direction only " Top to bottom", "Western Text" and "Right to left" but no option like "Bottom to top" or grow up.
Is there any way to achieve this?

Multiple Dynamic Tables on the same Form
Still getting used to working with Adobe LiveCycle. I am building a form that I want multiple dynamic tables included. I added the first one and got it working thanks to some postings on this site. I then went to create another the same way and this one doesn't want to add new rows like the previous one. I copied and pasted the code in the "Add buttons" and made sure the same properties were set for each table and sub for, but no luck. here's a look at the structure:
